A05 and MS Reader

Ok so I didn't remember my activation code (or misplaced it) for a ebook which I purchased. I still have it on my X5. Is there anyway to get it back on my X30 after the A05 upgrade? Frustrated to say the least.

Bump, Anyone?

That's why I love DRM.

Not that I know of. I'm moving this to the Ebook forum. Maybe someone there will know :)

I'm not sure if there is a simple answer or if there is even one that will accomplish what you want. I will do some thinking and research and see if I can find something. I assume you went to the MS reader home page and nosed around?

What do you mean by activation code? To register your axim with MS Reader you use an email address. You have six machines you can enable at one time. If it is for a particular book, then you should contact the merchant.

No not an activation code for the reader but rather for the book I purchased so long ago that I dont remember the code for it if I download it again. I tried to find it in my records and I cannot find it. I don't want to shell out more money for something I already purchased.

Should I kick myself now or later?

Personally, I have a folder in outlook that I save every receipt, code, warrenty and tech support email. It is invaluable to be able to look up something later.

Try looking in your Desktop's or Laptop's My documents folder, Ms Reader creates a folder called My Library where all your books are held. You should be able to copy snd paste to your X30 from there.

Well from what I have been able to determine your SOL unless you can contact the provider of your book and request the code. I do know that some books that I have seen use the credit card number you use to buy it as the activation code. Sorry I can't be more help

Do you remember where you purchased the ebook from? What format is it in (MS Reader, MobiPocket, etc)?

Sorry to be bearer of bad news..but I went through this a few months ago with a handful of books i had purchased that lost when a cf card went bad. I had long since switched providers as well as upgrade the computer since purchasing them so i had nothing other than a printed reciept. Email to the publisher basically was answered as "we are sorry for your problem, we will be glad to sell them to you again"...in short drm sucks. I dont like thievery but have started to buy paperbacks or hardbacks then looking for non-drm copies of the books just to avoid the problems rather than just buying some over protected ebook to start with.
