I had the same problem, but with BIS, not the SD card. Finally uninstalled MSReader for PPC from my X50v AND desktop. Reran the installation, accepting the default locationt this time and, guess what, it activated just fine!? You can then move the .exe and update the shortcut if you want to move it to either BIS or external storage.

encarta works perfectly on my x50 mid...i downloaded it just the other day.

maybe i have a different version of MS reader. i downloaded the newest version off the microsoft site about a week and a half ago...

p.s. -- my version is not activated (i only use free ebooks). it is installed in BIS, with the fonts moved to the Windows/Fonts folder and the shortcut in my Programs folder redirected...

If its an x50 mid it won't suffer from the pixel doubling since it only has a QVGA display.

Cheers for the tip about backup storage though. Couldn't get it to work before so i might give that i try as soon as i have some time
