Here's a site for all of you who remember reading The Adventure's of Tom Swift Jr.
This site is classified fan fiction. It has modernized the 1960's versions of the stories. These are free to download as text. I convert that into MS reader format with MS word. www.tomswiftlives.com
Search for the Full-text books, and some of them will be available for download as .pdfs.
Many old (20-30+ years) books will be there.
I just downloaded the Hound of the Baskervilles (Sherlock Holmes book) Now, I don't have to bring it home with me from school!
Thanks for that. I have TomeRaider (TR3) which will run lots of free books at www.memoware.com , eg complete Sherlock Holmes... however TR3 isn't free but, IMHO, worth it.
