I am a newbie, so bear with me, please! :) I am having trouble accessing ebooks on my PPC using Microsoft Reader. I can see them fine on my PC, but have trouble trying to view them on my Axim X5. I've read through the other threads talking about making sure you have the correct version (on my PPC it says it is 2.3 (Build 4182). I have also read about the issue of background pagination, and my problem seems to be related to it: I only get the first 70 or so pages (that is the most I've gotten). I leave the PPC on and it never gets any more pages than that. I drag the ebook from My Documents on my PC into my CF card folder "My Documents" as instructed and have deleted the ebook and reinstalled it several times, including deleting the .EBO file and the /litpath.LPT file. What should I attempt now? Could it be a problem with my CF card (Sandisk 256MB)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Fictionwise (where I purchased the book) responded that it may be my CF card (where I put the said book). They suggested that I put the book on the main memory of my Axim and see if it works, and of course, IT DOES! Arrgggh, now that means I have CF card issues...not uncommon, from what I've read in other threads!
It is easy to test if your CF card causes the problem. Just copy and paste the file to a Built in storage or main memory. And see if you could read the whole book.
Another way is to download some free .lit ebook and see if you could read the whole file. May be the Fictionwise's file is somehow corrupted. There is a great list in the ebook forum on free ebook sites.
BTW, I had no problem with MS Reader on X5. Up to version 2.2. But I couldn't get the 2.3 version activated on X50v. I switched to 3rd party reader in no time.
Nope, you would not waste a penny as you can covert LIT files to many other formats free, many converters out there. I convert my LIT files to PRC files.

Hello Suebeedo. I am fairly new here myself, so I am no expert. However, I wouldn't necessarily throw the baby out with the bathwater, as some have suggested. MS Reader is a good program, and you shouldn't have to resort to another ebook reader. Have you tried emailing or calling Microsoft? In my past experience, they have been quite helpful.

How do you go about converting these files to over to another file?
