MS Reader nonresponsive

A couple of other folks have mentioned this but I don't see that anyone has offered a solution.

I can install and activate MS Reader on my X50v o.k. The opening screen comes up and lets me select a book. However, the menu choices along the left side of the screen don't respond to a stylus tap -- at least, not where they're supposed to. If I tap an inch or so ABOVE the "RETURN" box I can return to the opening screen. I haven't been able to find any sequence that will get me into the book itself.

Any ideas? Has it got something to do with the X50v's VGA? Is there a fix? Is anyone using MS Reader successfully with an X50v?

MS Reader solution

If you put the re-named Hi-Res file in the windows directory, reader will work. There are still a couple of issues after that, but they are minor. You should be able to find a link to the file in the X50 general forum.

I did a search on "hi-res" but didn't turn up anything useful here on Aximsite. Can you be a bit more specific?

Thanks! :)

Reader

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I couldn't find the link either and was going to post the file when I got home, but someone beat me to it. I hope that it helps. Apparently, there is a program called Tweaks2k that will implement this fix for a number of programs.

Yep, that fixed it. Some of the menus still don't work, but I can read now. Thanks! :)

I had the same problem. Reader fires right up and shows the books in the Library. What I do is at this point is let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then tap on your desired book and it should be right up.
