I find most ebooks are a complete load of rubbish.
There still isn't a choice of any good contemporary fiction. Most is cheap airport novels or unpublished sci-fi writers.
I'd like to see Ian McEwen, Iain Banks, Vikram Seth, Salman Rushdie etc published as ebooks, but I guess never will due to there being no demand for them.
Also it'd be nice to be able to get any non-fiction title you want as an ebook.
I think perhaps the only half-decent resource of ebooks is that at ePenguin (Penguin) and that's only got a handful of titles.
there are lots of books out there, you just have to look.
BTW...thanks again to Don't Panic for the subscription
and to let all know, I am re-reading the ebook "A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams:approve:
How are they gonna turn that book into a movie???? It is coming out soon.

I also highly recommend the Baen library. I've read all 10 main books in the Honor Harrington series by David Weber several times on my Axim. For novels, it rocks as a book reader. Reference and tech manuals on the other hand generally suck as charts and tables usually, just aren't big enough.
Currently though, I'm reading Larry Niven's Fallen Angels. Great book, but the ebook translation leaves alot to be desired. Too many typos for my taste. :)

Just finished Michael Crighton's - Prey. Didn't get great reviews but I thought it was pretty interesting nanotech thriller stuff. Made you think a bit. Also reading Star Trek New Frontiers. Its a collection of short stories written by amateur writers and chosen for publication through a competition each year. Its good for those times when you have 10 or 15 minutes to kill and nothing to do. Project Guttenberg is a good site for free books. They have some classics like Jules Verne. I also found Darwins Origin of the Species and actually read it. Its a little dry but interesting to read
I haven't read Da Vinci Code yet. Do you recommend I read that first before Angels and Demons?
It doesn't matter if you do,
It would be cool to get a little background of the character, however Dan Brown's books aren't very deep in character development.
I agree. DaVinci Code, while decent as a page-turner, left me cold in terms of beinb able to empathize wirh any of the characters. The sort of reminded me of mediocre actors in a good highschool play. Decent story. bit no character depth.
Legends of the Riftwar series by Raymond Feist
Bloodwinter by Tom Deitz
Steel Beach by John Varley
Spellsong Cycle series by L. E. Modesitt, Jr.
Soul of the Fire by Terry Goodkind
and I'm on book 8 of the Discworld series.
And I just finished reading the Obsidian Chronicles by Lawrence Watt-Evans. Fabulous books!

I have heard it said that the death penalty is not enough of a deterrent.
I think that's because it takes too long to be carried out.
Another Baen webscriber here. I'm currently reading. Berserker Death by Fred Saberhagen. I'd recommend An Oblique Approach by David Drake and the other free books in the Belisarius series available at The Baen Free Library.
I checked out the site. Very few authors there that I read. Too bad TOR doesn't do something like that.

What better way is there to find new authors to read than by getting it for free? Try some John Ringo, David Weber, or Eric Flint. They're all excellent writers.
