Out of total boredom, i decived to copy the world factbook over to my x50v. After unzipping the zip file, i discovered it was over 70mb! So I decided to shink it, edit the html code to make it more readable on PDA's, and remove the flags.
The World Factbook v0.1:
* All countries
* All maps for all countries
* Smaller HTML files
* New index file
* Removed flags (And flags code in HTML)
* Up to date as of March 30, 2005
Size: 13.7MB! (5.1MB Zip)
This release is in pure HTML (Don't you just hate the Ebook versions of it?), so you can view it with Pcket Internet Explorer. Included are some screenshots.
Please, let me know what you all think of this version. If enough people like it, i will keep updating and maintain it.
You can browse the PDA Version before deciding if you want to download it.

I'v been working on shrinking it even more, and v0.2 will probably be the same size, with flags. Finally, iv found a use for my old 16MB SD card that came with my digital camera!
Of cource, it could be made even smaller in a ebook format, but I prefer html, so we can use our favorite browsers to view it.
Thanks alot for the positive replies :)

I only happend to mention Tomeradier as i have a soft spot for it (It was the first commercial PDA software i ever bought) and i've used it on 3 platforms now :)
Having said that sometimes you can't beat plain, old fashioned, honest to goodness, 100% HTML. So thanks and thanks again. :approve:

That is cool. Thanks for your efforts.. Too bad I wasn't in school still! This would have been great for my last job in international market research (I often used the fact book to grab some quick info).
EDIT: THe about CIA worldfactbook link is black text on dark gray background for me (using firefox)
