I am thinking of going for MS Reader on my x50...I have a lot of e-books already but i read them on my home PC or laptop and the pages are of roughly paperback novel size and format on the screen. Will they be reformatted on the PDA screen so that a 1 page = 1 screenful? or will they be like PDFs?

I believe a page equals a screenfull. Works great for me :approve:

Which ebook reader reads ".lit"

while you guys are at it, can you tell me what other formatts there are besides lit and mpb. At the mobibook site they say their books are universal, does that mean other readers can read them also?

".lit" is Microsoft Reader only.
Universal relates to reading Palm Doc files - *.prc *.prb, any text or Html file. Depends on the reader.
You can always install different readers to read different types.

Mobipocket for most books. The size of the font is much nicer than MSReader. There are times I can't be hassled stripping the .lit text out and converting it to Mobipocket, so I guess I use MS Reader also, but not my first choice.

I use eReader Pro

I found eReader Pro easy to use, with lots of useful options and settings, easy movement within a book, and the addition of a dictionary within the tool.

MS reader for .lit , adobe reader for .pdf and µbook for everything else.
it's a pain that MSreader doesn't have autoscroll . That's a feature i really love in µbook.

µbook reads HTML, TXT, RTF, PDB and PRC (not secure) ebook files.
i think mobibooks are prc and pdb since they are palm issued ?

Does that mean it can read all the other formats? Is there something which converts one format to another? I haven't noticed ubook, where do you get it?
I have only started researching e-books and am using MS Reader at present.

I downloaded the Ubook Demo version from their site for ppc. I was wondering if anyone knows if its a full demo? I mean will it expire or are there features that can't be used?

Here's a link to ubooks last free beta version.

Or, you can go to their site and pay $12 (I think that's what it costs now) and get the latest version. :approve:
Also, you can try doing a google search for conversion software.
Mobipocket has a program that does some conversion.

Hope this helps some.
