It all depends on the situation. If I am waiting for my car to get worked on, I'd prefer a nice free ebook over carying a book around. But if I'm in the comfort of my home, I prefer to read a nice hardcover like Harry Potter or Eragon.

I like them but a good old book is sometimes nicer to have to read. The strain on the eyes is less than with a PDA screen.

Same here as Frenchy, though there is a fair selection of ebooks out there if you know where to look. I still prefer books to a certain extent - they have a nice tactile quality.

i'm on the fence...i mean, they're great for reading on the go (one less thing to carry!), but when i'm at home, my eyes much prefer a REAL book...plus, due to the price, i only download free ebooks (which usually aren't all that good... :rolling: )...i dunno...if i'm gonna spent 10 bucks, i'd prefer to have something PHYSICAL to show for it...i'm not big on spending money on a file...

Yay, ebooks! I had downloaded an ebook in .html format (no copyright, it was free) that was so big that it was quite unwieldy in Pocket IE. So, I made a little VBASIC script on my desktop that cut it up into chapters, with an index. Just needed to ensure the word "Chapter" appeared on its own line at the head of each chapter (with the chapter number, of course). I just love the portability of ebooks, as opposed to other books. One disadvantage: pictures, where they are important. ebooks are really superior for text-only, though.
