Hi I am new and need to know which e-book reader is good. If there one that works for all formats or do different ones work with different formats?

Ebooks

Rimmi,
If you will search the forums under "ebooks" you will find discussions on formats (including pros and cons) and also links to some good ebook sites. Many uses several readers. I don't, mostly because I have to start being somewhat chary about what I add. I could put them on the SD card, but just haven't. Some ebooks are free (Gutenberg project...mostly classics; Baen free...fantasy and scf) and some cost (amazon, fictionwise etc.) I think many of us read science fiction and recommend Baen free (and charge) but not all of us read scf. There are MANY good suggestions on this and other things on this site.
If you haven't read the tutorials, do! I didn't and now have one scratched place on my screen.

One place you can get ebooks is at ereader and they have a promo on for this month (July) where they are giving away a free ebook everyday. Mostly fiction but some non-fiction too.
Click here to see their free ebook of the day. You can also download their basic reader for free. I just got it and it seems to be a nice program although I imagine is only good for stuff from their site.

I convert all my e-books to PDF file. Then sync them to my CF-Card. You must use the activesync explorer so that the pdf gets tagged for reflow. The PocketPC tags and PC tags are not always the same. Anyways I have the following e-books.

R.A. Salvatore's Legacy of the Drow 1-4
J.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings
Dante Algheiri's Divine Comedy
Anne Hooper's Kama Sutra
and last but not least all Harry Potter Novels

I do in fact own all these books on paperback, however I prefer to take my pocketpc and read books whenever I get a spare moment. I.E. caught in line somewhere, lunchbreak, or even *ahem* (you know you do it) the bathroom :approve:

Hi rimmi,

I like uBook Reader (that's supposed to be a mu, not just a u, in front of Book) from Gower Point:

http://www.gowerpoint.com/

It's not free, but it's cheap, and it reads just about any unprotected e-book format: txt, pdf, html, unprotected Palm formats like pdb. It'll open jpg files. Very flexible.
