What is the most flexible format?
I wanted to know one that I can create ebooks with, then read them on many diffrent programs.

If you have only plain text - use txt files, for ebooks with some graphics you can save it as html or rtf. I'm using uBook and it can books from a zip file, so it saves space and you can have few books in just one file.

If it is just going to be stylized text, without images, use RTF (Rich Text Format).
With pictures, HTML. If you truely want it to be universal.

You don't use PIE or Word to read an eBook HTML file; you use a program like uBook.

pdb (palmreader) format sounds like what you want. there are viewers on most platforms and ereader/mobipocket will read it for free on the ppc
