From your post it is unclear as to whether you are attempting to activate directly from your device. If this is so please try it from the desktop. If you are currently attempting this from the desktop please try the following:
Open Internet Explorer
Go to Tools | Internet Options
Click on the Security tab
Click on the button "Custom Level"
Go to the section marked "ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins"
For each entry in this section either mark it as "prompt" or "enable"
Close your browser window
Open a new browser window and navigate to
http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/activate.asp?
Attempt to go through the activation process
