I don't think so if there was it'd be very difficult to play. Lack of buttons...

only thing I've seen is a playstation emulator on a PC, then it was wifi's to PDA, saw a video & looked reasonable framerate, but not really usefull as a standalone thingy.

Yes, there is such a thing, and it works very well, even through a network! Get it here:

Right now, fspece is very slow on 51v, because gapi is not yet available. Please help fspece get wm5 support by donations .

It is a PS1 emulator - PS2 emulation is a long way off.

What does the PSP have? Because it closely resembles what you get on the PS2

PS2 is "between" PS1 and PS2....more so with a PS2 though. (2004 technology compared to 1995 technology)

Both the PSP and the PS2 are extremly powerful. The axim may never get that strong. Your best bet is a ulta mini laptop that could emulate ps2 in the future for handheld playing.

Actually that is very wrong atleast in the psp part, an axim x50/51v or even an x50/51 mid are much more powerful than a psp.

A psp only has
333mhz processor
32mb main memory
4mb embeded dram
2mb video ram

The psp's video core might be a little bit better but the x51v would atleast be able to keep up without much trouble i would think.

And a ps2 actually isn't very powerful, a psp would probably if compared in a test be more powerful.

the ps2's specs can be found
here

No, the video chip in the x50/1v can only push a couple hundred of thousand triangles/polygons a second, whereas the PSP can push millions. And yet, those PowerVR demos look extremely nice, especially the racing one...It looks a lot like Ridge Racer for the PSP.
