Emulation Woes
So I've got two versions of MorphGear (2.2.5.6) and the latest (2.3.0.2). The older version works pretty good, but GBA and SNES are choppy. I've also got the GAPI 2.0 tweak. There's no option to change the driver in the old version of MorphGear, so I'm pretty much stuck with the choppiness I guess.
I tried the newest version of MorphGear and tried changing the drivers. GDI and Framebuffer don't make much difference, and it locks up on chosing GAPI (no matter what setting I chose for the GAPI tweak). Is there any way around this? It'd be great to have 2700G acceleration in emulators ;(. On another note, it always says I don't have sufficient memory when trying to load up an SNES ROM with the latest version. I have 30MB RAM free--enough for PSX emulation. I'm fairly certain that's enough for SNES.
I've also tried PocketSNES, the OpenGL build. It's not bad, but one thing that really bugs me is that all of my games are in Storage Card\ROMs\SNES, and it doesn't detect them unless they're a level lower. Not a huge issue, it just kind of bugs me. I think what bothers me most is that none of these emulators run Seiken Densetsu 3.
Well I guess I'm just asking for advice on tweaks and reccomended emulators. Running an Axim X50v.
Thanks

I have no experience, still very new to me, of emulators to speak of but I downloaded and installed the GBA emulator "Pocket GBA" and tried an old Duke Nukem ROM and it seemed ok - Its worth trying but is specific to GBA ROM's from what I understand.

Well right now I'm using PocketSNES (OpenGL version) for SNES, and MorphGear for everything else. Everything runs great in MorphGear except GBA, Genesis, and SNES. I've got one of those covered and I know there's a standalone editor for the other two.
How well did PocketGBA run? Options for GAPI or OpenGL acceleration?

I don't normally play games so I can only tell you what I did, I loaded GBA and then the ROM and it seemed quite smooth (I had the sound off at the time - I read that can slow things down) I only played around for a few minutes so I hadn't got all the controls figured out. I haven't used GAPI and to be honest wouldn't know what to do with it but would appreciate advice. If you want I can email the emulator to you to play around with when I get home from work - just PM me the address you want it sent to if you do.

The link i gave you does help you... just got to read between the lines. What i mentioned was that this weekend I'm taking some time out of my day to help people out to enhance/speed up morphgear to get good results in the emulation of genesis and snes. Our GBA module is currently not the best for pocket pc of course but if configured properly, it can at least do a few roms decently. I will be helping a few people out in the beginner steps of hacking morphgear(don't worry, it's legal hacking, we at Morphgear have approved it!)
I will also be giving a few "goodies" depending on the questions and the problems you are having with your pocket pc and Morphgear.

How to change morphgear's EXE???
Ok I remember doing this a loooong time ago but I can't find how to do it again. The problem was that when I use GAPI tweak with morphgear on my AXIM X50v it displayed everything hires. This made the virtual gamepad very small and pretty much unusable. Also, with the current version of morphgear I get the video expanded too much. I can only see the upper left corner of my game, running very smoothly.

What I read on a forum a long time ago was that I could open the Morphgear.EXE in a Hex Editor and change a value that returned everything to low res (pixel dubbling was used) so I could now use the virtual pad OK and the screen would be displayed correctly, with GAPI and games would run so smoothly. It was great, but I cant find in my old files how I didi it.

Does any of you remember this?? I've searched all over the net but when I think I've found a forum that will help, it no longer exists. Even Spicypixel.com is under construction.

Neither have I run into this during the course of writing my emulator guide (have read through almost all threads containing the word 'MorphGear'). It would certainly be VERY useful. Anyone?

(I think I'll mail the dev to find out whether he knows.)

I believe it was in spicypixel.com
I think I learned this hack in the forums at Spicy Pixel. com but they are gone, at least for now.

I´m using Morphgear 2.4.0.9 now

I think I found one of my old Morphgear.EXE that I Hacked. But I don´t know to which version it belongs. If I try to use it with 2.4.0.9, (replace the original exe with the hacked one) it´ll give me an error.

I´ll have to install other older morphgears till I find the one it belongs to.
