I read the "readme" file ... no info on roms format ...

do we leave it in zip format and just place it in the ROMS folder .... or do we have to extract it ??

You have to copy your roms inside the folder called 'roms', in zip format. You will find more information in the 'UserGuide' file inside the folder 'doc'

On firefox clicking on the logos do not take me to the download page. Only worked for me in IE.

I didn't notice much difference in sound (from v0.4) with the games I tried.

What should be a good audio and video setting for the x30h (QVGA, 624MHz)?

You are right, Firefox maintains the Flash file in cache, my PHP script send a header to avoid this but it doesn't affect to Flash files (I must add that I'm not an expert in PHP). Clearing the files in Firefox resolves the issue.

The maximum speed for most games is 60fps, play with the options to be near to this frame rate.

For my IPaq 2750 (qvga and 624Mhz too) I leave the video options 'auto' and choose 22050Hz for the sound in most games, for some 68000 games like 'Three wonders', 'Golden Axe' or 'Ghouls and Ghosts' I play with 11025Hz and I get 52-60fps, a very playable frame rate with sound. Without sound I get a constant speed of 60fps.

For my Axim x51v I play with 'Intel 2700G double pixel size' checked and saved as default option. Some games runs at full speed with default options and for some others I have to disable scale or rotate the screen to play with a smaller resolution but making the game more playable ('Tetris', for example).

On my Loox720 (VGA, 520 mhz I think)I am getting a lot of hard crashes after loading a game. The exit button won't work and I have to reset the device with the reset switch. This happens on some games that worked on the previous version.

Anyone else having this problem?

Wow! I'm really surprised how fast this emulator is. I LOVE the fact that video and input options can be unique per game.

It would nice if there was an option to Quit to game menu instead of quiting the whole program.

Some games don't work and would quit suddenly, leaving the screen in a messy magnified state. You can fix it by turning the device "off" and "on".

If the Intel 2700G doublepixle option is staying for the next version, I would suggest moving it to be an option under Scaling, such as:
- Auto (Intel 2700G).
This is because if you check Intel 2700G, it looks like it will doublepixel all games even if they don't need it. So if the text in some games don't look so sharp, it may be because it is a high-resolution game and doesn't need the double-pixleing.

Warning about the screenshots for games: make sure the screenshots are EXACTLY 180x135. I thought that was the maximum resolution so I shrunk and converted my screenshots accordingly, keeping the aspect ratio. So some screenshots, especially for portrait games, were 135 high but less than 180 wide. PocketCultMAME will not like those at all and will show a warning screen that will not go away unless you reboot or replace the graphic (assuming you have it on a storage card and pop it out for a fix). It would be better if I knew of a program that can resize graphics porportionally but fill the unused background so the resulting graphic is at the desired size without distorting the original image.

Maybe it would be better if pcmame would show a graphic saying 'invalid screenshot' instead of popping up an error. Also, anyone know if there is a place I can download a complete set of 0.34 mame screenshots?

Thanks again to all people here for test PocketCultMAME.

I built a special package using the original MAME CPU emulators for those games that do not work with DrZ80 or Cyclone. This build is available at www.pocketcult.com and get working some games like 'Black Tiger', 'Rampage', 'Pang' and others with some speed cost... but they work.
