fpsece playstation emulator
what do i need to do to get decent framerates in this emulator on my X51v
specificaly with gran turismo one but as other games have the same degraded frame rates any advice would help

fpsece is the coolest program i have found for my handhelds and i would hate to have to give it up

and is there a way to trick the axim into using gapi instead of opengl so that i can use wm2003 games and programs

If you go to my Diablo II thread you will find a good guide on how to get every thing running good. But the only problem is X51V has WM5, which is unsupported I think.

You can play playstation, just really really slowly. ON my Axim x50 520mhz, I could get 6-7fps........ Its not really worth it. Do a search in these threads for fpsece. You also need a bios....SCPH1001.bin (It is kinda like a rom, so I cant tell you where to find it) and place it in the bios folder. Next you need a program like pocketISO to rip the game, and then another program (I forgot the name) to compile it. Your best bet is to search.

since you have an x50v just use the gapi tweak and you should get 20+ fps

just search fpsece on google and download it, read the forums, find the ripping guide, and you're set

edit: that was @ beweglich

That's because X50 is under 2003 SE. The 2 developers of fpseCE have created this emulator working on asus a620, and when VGA ppcs arived on the market, it quickly appeared that there was several problems with the emulator on those devices.
Now thx to a strong community, there have been enough donations for one of the devs to buy a X50! All the curent problems with 2003SE and 2005 should be fixed soon. Furthermore, they will quickly start to work on 2700g suport!

Anyway, one should go to theyr official boards for any question: http://www.pdai.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17
We're still trying to raise funds for the 2nd dev to also get an axim. Schtruck and LDChen never asked for anything for theyr great emulator, but donations can't arm them

i'm one of the Author of FpseCE. Yep it's true, we are waiting for an Axim X5xV, then we will make one of the best product for this fabulous machine!

For now, until i get the first X51V, i have worked on support for this machine, and now it should be Ok without any trick. i have to test it before... hope to received my unit next week...

Next Step is to apply VGA accelerated mode (using OpenGL ES) to blit screen.

To make this Step very quickly if anyone could ask to PocketSNES OpenGL author, if he can share the OpenGL part of its source, i have no mail to contact him.

Mine is schtruck@free.fr

Then final Step will be to port GPU plugin to OpenGL ES which will gives a real boost and sweet GFX..

Schtruck.

I find the snes games very playable in the pocketsnes emulator. Since snes games didnt come on cd you can get roms off the net and they are only a few mb. How many mb is a ps rom. They must be huge.

Yep True PSX isos are usually very big, that why we developped a tool to RIP and Compress them automatically.... Isos are now from 2mb to 130mb in general, sometime more..

just come on Fpsece Homepage and take PocketISO 2.0 tool, http://www.fpsece.net
