Some older PC games on the Pocket PC
While I'm waiting for my Pocket PC to arrive, I've done some searching to see if there are Pocket PC projects for the games listed below, but haven't found anything. I'm just curious to know if anyone has attempted them for the Pocket PC, whether they be emulated, ported, or programmed from scratch. I know there are mediocre clones for at least one of these games, but that's not what I'm after.

1) System Shock
2) Command & Conquer / Red Alert
3) Baldur's Gate 1/2
4) Icewind Dale 1/2

With Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, I realize that storage and possibly resolution are an issue. System Shock and Command & Conquer can likely be emulated using PocketDOS or DOSBoxPPC, but I don't know how successfully (someone has suggested that System Shock would run way too slow, despite it being a 12-year-old game).

Has anyone attempted to emulate these, or know of related projects?

The list at http://forums.pocketpcfaq.com/viewtopic.php?t=16888 doesn't have any mention of any of these games.

Haven't looked through all the five pages of http://forums.pocketpcfaq.com/viewtopic.php?t=10287 - have you checked it out?

Guys and gals, don’t forget to check out my brand new, MS-DOS / x86 emulation-related article at http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=153194

(Sorry for flooding – IMHO, this article certainly deserves attention because it answers ALL the questions a Windows Mobile user may want to EVER ask about emulating MS-DOS. Make sure you read it!)

This is an excellent resource, Menneisyss! I have an old Thinkpad 560X that I use for playing a few of my old DOS games, but I saw your demonstration of King's Quest 5, and I thought "I'm going to have to try that!" Well done!

<some time later>
Woo-hoo! Got my KQ5 running on my Axim!
