question about Virtual Pad in Emulators
how are you supposed to go about using the D-Pad and and the buttons (or multiple buttons) on the virtual pad at the same time? It hasn't worked for me

First of all, what emulator are you using? Also, what exactly are you trying to do?

Are you trying to push two buttons on your touch screen? If you are trying that, it will not work. If you push 2 different points, your ppc will think you are touching the middle of the two points. It will do the same thing in notepad. If tap 2 different points, it will draw in the middle of them.

that's what I figured
but some how it seemed to work fine on someone else's X50
though he was using PokeNes (which I couldn't get working on mine)
could that be it?
besides, the Virtual Pad would be somewhat useless if it wasn't possible

It's not possible since we have no "multiple touchscreen areas", the PDA can only transform one touch-screen action at the same time.

Virtual PADs are there to have the possibility to:
1. Have more buttons then the PPC has Hardware-Buttons (simple if you just look at the amount of buttons needed for the PSX Emulator)

2. Have the possiblity to use both hands during landscape-gaming (since you otherwise could only use your left hand)

3. Have an alternative for your crappy Hardware Buttons (some are really bad o use)

4. Give PDAs which can not handle two Hardware-Buttons pressed at the same time the possibility to play games correct, too. For example, the player want's the jump and run forwards, he can only do that by pressing the "forward" Hardware Button and the "jump" Onscreen Button on the Virtual PAD.

Very usefull!
