PocketNester + Win2003 (A05) = 45FPS+!
PocketNESTER was running around the 22-26 frames per second on my Axim 400, Win2003 A04. I upgraded to A05, and now I am getting ~45FPS! Sound everything works great!

Can people post their FPS with their emulator, and axim system specs?

That's great!

However, have you tried PocketSNES with PPC2k3? There are some games I'm dying to play on my AX from that platform !

Well, my Ax gets 49 FPS with the old WM2003 A04. If I put sound on full and auto sync, I get full sound and 30 FPS

I can't get the update to install. I get the 1/13 hanging issue.

I've tried PocketSNES, I would have to say it runs about 4 times faster, on action games like contra or super metroid its very playable without sound, with sound its just borederline playable, but certain games like super punchout should run just about perfect. The only problem is that the buttons seem to lag at times. GFdoom runs at a nice consistant 39-40 fps.

The update has improved PocketNester a lot for me. With A04 I got around 30 fps without sound. Now, using A05, I get 35+ fps and full quality sound.

Welll... I've got an Axim basic running 2002.

Running PocketNester at 300 Mhz, I get 35
Running PocketNester at 400 Mhz, with 100Mhz PxBUS I get 45
Running PocketNester at 472 Mhz, with 200Mhz PxBus, I get 50+

It's hard to read the little number in this screen shot, but it's a 51, and that's because the screen capture program was kicking in. It ranges from 50-55.

Sadly I am not all that impressed with these numbers! i have ppc2k2, a pxa255 400mhz axim. And i get around 40-45...the highest number i saw on this thread was 55? I would expect full emulation if pocket snes is now 4 times faster or alcmost completely playable...SHouldn't pocket nester be full emulation?

yeah, I've always been happy with NES emulation since I got my axim pxa250 400mhz, the performance with sound has always been more than acceptable (I use YAME), but the more demanding games like GBC and SNES are where you can really see the difference, so far it is very much improved 2-4x, which to my eye (I dont trust PocketSNES which shows constant 20's) turns out to be maybe 10-20fps average instead of 5-10fps with sound.

Why should anyone need 40-45 fps in PocketNester? Who cares? It runs plenty fast for me on PPC 2002, fast enough to play all the games I own to the exact same speeds of my old NES.
