Don't underestimate the effect WM 2003 will have on games. I got the German version installed on my Axim, everything is playable, not necessarily full speed, very few GBA games are, but just about everything is playable.

Take a look at XCPUScalar and you'll be playing GBA games right away. Not all of them, but a very good selection.
