PocketNESter HELP
Hey Guys,

I have Pocket Nester and love it. There is only
1 problem that I have with it at times.

Sometimes I forget to close the ROM and just hit the
X key in the upper right corner by mistake. This causes
pocket nester to close BUT, the games stays on the screen.
I can't close this game screen...ONLY if I remove the battery
from my AXIM.

Any suggestions??

Ray

I'd rather remove the battery...
I've heard too many horror stories about soft
resets. I've had my Axim for 2 months and I've
NEVER had to reset it...so why start now.

Unless you have a defective unit, soft reset won't cause any problems.

If you have have the switcher bar loaded you can switch back to PocketNester (may take a couple of tries though)

What do you think you're doing when you remove the battery?

You're still doing a soft reset, but removing the battery for no reason, just push in the reset button with the stylus instead.

I think there might be some confusion about soft and hard resets here????

Push the button in on the side (using the stylus) and it's a soft reset. Kills all the running programs (theoretically), and gives you a clean start, but saves all your data and programs in RAM..

Push that reset button AND power button... Hard Reset..

Axim goes back to factory specs, clean start, reload all data and programs...

Remove batteries.. Same as Hard Reset...

Are PocketNES and PocketNEStor the same program. I use PocketNES and do not see the 'tor' anywhere on the start up screen. The startup PocketNES logo looks like the pokemon logo. Is this the same emulator.

Nevermind, answered my own question I found the PocketNestor emulator at www.jetech.org. And it doesn't crash every 5 minutes

Maybe this will help some see the difference better: A soft reset of a PPC would be kinda like a reboot of a PC, no big concern even if done frequently. A hard reset, on the other hand, would be more like a reformat and reload.

If you want to avoid eventually punching through the rubber with the stylus, you CAN push the reset button with your thumb or fingers.
