I have this program too, and I'm a little disappointed. Why? Well for one thing, it doesn't run Bard's Tale III and Centauri Alliance -- both of which have opcode copy protection.
I love Wasteland (one of the best games of all time), but what sucked about that game is that you had to refer to paragraphs to get story elements. Not handy if you plan on playing on a handheld. Same with Champions of Krynn.

Just like any emulation program, or any other program, the first versions usually do less than later ones.
If they keep refining and adding features, taking out bugs, etc. it should be able to run more of the programs that do not run now. How many other emulators out there run every program in their first versions? ![]()

If someone came out with a game that looked like the games for the C64, Apple, etc. these days it would be laughed at and I doubt that anyone would by it.
Well, maybe for us "old timers" that remember these machines from actually owning one. With all the 3d games that you need a $400 graphics card to run, how would a game like Defender Of The Crown survive? Without being redone to the standards of 2003? Remember when 64k was a vast amount of memory? With that 4k more at 49152?

I have Impossible Mission running in PocketC64...
AWESOME!!!! I keep running and falling thru the floor, just to hear him scream!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! Or how about, "Stay awhile... Stay... FOREVER!!!!" Love the voices in that game, and the emulator does it justice!!! Another great game... Beyond the Forbidden Forest (and the Original - Forbidden Forest).... Paralax scrolling!! 3-D feel!! Music changed based on gameplay.. Would get darker as you played longer.... AWESOME!!!! desiv p.s. As for the guy with the C64 in his closet.. For shame!!! I have my Apple //e sitting right here, on top of my Coleco Adam. (Both hooked to the same monitor/speakers) And my Atari 7800 and Odyssey 2 are attached to the TV in the front room!!! The Vectrex is on the Table in the dining room.. :-) (Interestingly enough, the O2 was the only one I had as a kid. From there, I went Vic-20, C-64, SX-64, Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, etc... But as I started collecting, I started with the systems I didn't have as a kid.. :-)

I was still using my C128 in college in '92 to run SpeedScript. I did all of my papers and reports on there so I didn't have to live in the computer lab.... Maybe my tagging experience in SpeedScript is why I'm an programmer today....
![]() I still have a box in a trunk downstairs with at least 50 disks of my old games that I played the most. I knew someday I wanted to show my kids what games their father played when he was their age... I have to go through it and write down the titles to see if I can find ROMs. I know some are even the "hack" double-sided kind - you know, use a paper punch to make a notch so a single-side disk became double sided..... The ones I remember... Annihilator Impossible Mission Summer Games Winter Games Yie-ar Kung Fu On-field Football

I'm having a hard time making this game work. The whole reason I installed pocket64 was to play Pawn. I recall being sucked into this game at a friend's house back in the day. I got about 1/2 way through, and then never got to play again...been wanting to get to it ever since.
When I choose autorun, it starts to load, the letters turn green, the screen reads "loading..." and it just sits there until my auto-off shuts the Ax off. Has anyone had any luck with this one? How about other games? How do you load and play 'em? Thanks!

Or hunt down comeback64, that's the free one; but most sites took it down prior to PocC64 came out. Cheers.
