PocketSNES and X50v problems. Help!
I can't seem to figure out why I am getting errors trying to run PocketSNES on my PPC. I downloaded the program at www.freewareppc.com, unzipped it on my computer, and copied the .exe file to my PPC through Activesync. When I try to run it, I get the error "'PocketSNES' is not a valid Pocket PC application". Well, obviously it is a valid Pocket PC application, and I have confirmed with others that this is the exact way they got PocketSNES working on their PPC's. Can anyone think of what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

I found this great Emulator that works wonderfully on the Dell Axim X50v... MorphGear version 2.2.5.6! It runs great with NES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and SNES roms. I haven't tried out the Gameboy Advance emulation yet on it, but I have read that it is extremely slow.

I must have a program or something that is causing problems. I can't get MorphGear to work either. It installs fine, but when I open it I get an error box that says "MorphGear: Access violation". I tap ok, and it just keep popping up. After I tap ok 4-5 times, MorphGear closes. I get the same error everytime I try to open it.

smeg.... Did you try opening the .exe on your regular PC to make sure that it is not actually a PC-based installer that installs it through ActiveSync?

That is the only scenario in which I've seen that error message.

I did try opening it on my PC first. I get the error message saying it isn't a Win32 app. I have found elsewhere on the forum that it is supposed to be directly copied over to the PPC.

Very odd....

Are you positive the one you downloaded was for an ARM processor? That would also have the possibility of the "not a valid PPC app" error message.

It said it was the ARM version on the site I downloaded it at. I did download it at several different locations as well, so one of them must have been the correct ARM version.

Very odd then....

Just to make sure it wasn't a bad download, have you tried downloading it directly from the developer's website?

I have tried downloading the ARM version of a couple different releases off that site, and get the same error.

It is definatly something I have already installed. I have no idea what, but after a backup and hard reset PocketSNES worked great. After a restore, it is giving me the error again. Any ideas what could be causing a problem like this?

sunbug.net have already release a lightening fast gba emu, and the new verison I am waiting for with baited breath.

Anyone know a quality controller that slips on top of the bottom half of an axim? Why don't they just stick gameboy style crontol pad on an axim anyway, why style over functionality?

What else would you do with 624mhz than play games, no really, do they think we have some really processor hungry gps or presentation software on here (GPS is probably the hungriest app, but even so, a few lines of a map...)
