I just want to play SNES
I'm a PPC newbie and I just want to play some of my SNES games on my new X50v. What is the best emulator for the X50v? Also, could someone explain what else I will need for the emulator? An updated GAPI driver?

Thanks,
Anodos

PS I'm posting this from my X50v over wifi, woohoo!

Morphgear by far....the author is working on tweaks for the 4700 and x50v...plus with picards gapi tweaks it already runs quite well.

I have pocketSNES and it seems to be quite a bit faster then morph. I using the one tweaked by someone on this forum, not the site download.

Do any of these fully support VGA? And how playable are SNES games using the X50 buttons? Are there joysticks available for the X50?

Again, thanks!

PocketSNES with Picards tweak and I run a bunch of games at 30 fps. F-Zero gave me problems, but thats about the only one I've played with unplayable frames.

PocketSNES version is PocketSNES-1.12.200-ARM. Its called PocketSNES "something" and I can't remeber the name. Its like PocketSNES nitro (that is definitly not right). Something like that.

I don't think any support VGA, but could be wrong. PocketSNES definitly does not.

No controllers yet, which stinks.

The buttons are okay, but if you need all 6 buttons for playing (not including start/select) it doesn't work very well. here are onscrene buttons that a lot of people use, but I don't like finger-printing-up my screen.

Hope this helps.

ps just remebered, that version of PocketSNES is called PocketSNES Bleedingedge (maybe bleeding edge) and can still be downloaded. Yahoo search should make it easy to find.

morphgear has always been crap for me, aka you can only have 2 buttons pressed and it ignores any more than those two, plus i had stability problems. but i was only using the NES emulator so it mightve been just that

Morphgear Forum Overseer here...
The New Morphgear is awesome and it support the Axim X50v. GBA games run at a playable speed (with sound on!),the Genesis Emulator is pretty fast (without sound). SNES is ok if you do what emulamer has said on Morphgear's Forum:
http://www.morphgear.com/forum/forum...posts=15#M6883
Everything else run perfectly with no problems except for some incompatible games here and there. Our current version is 2.2.5.7. and a new version will be coming sooner or later. We are currently having a problem with our "Driver" option in "Global Settings" as it let's you chose which one you would like for your gaming. This may be tossed out in the next release because it is causing too many problems (and forum posts) but may be reimplemented in "Future" releases.Picards Tweak really helped make emulation faster for Morphgear thnx to emulamer.
If you have any problems with our program, drop by our Forum.
We are more than happy to help ya' out !
