Best for-pay emulator: morphgear, which emules a large number of systems (NES, SNES, Game Gear, Game Boy Advance and older, to name a few)

As for free ones, I'll post a link tommorow with a list of about all emulators for Pocket PC.

Morphgear is free for some modules, the SNES, Genesis and TG16. The rest like the Gamegear and GBA do require a fee.

That is correct! We at Morphgear charge $20 for each module:
Gamegear/SMS, GBC, GBA, NES.
The Free modules are SNES, Genesis, Turbogfx-16.
Good Stuff!

What are the best games for Morphgear. I've been using SNES roms and most are dated 93-95. Are the GBA games better (speed/resolution/more indepth?). I'm mostly interested in games for my kids since PDA games are $10-20 bucks. I dont want to buy a lot of them for the kids entertainment.

I havent had alot of time to play with the gba module But the snes emulation is fantastic. I had purchased morphgear years ago but havent upgraded in a while due to a long layoff and other priorities (shame on me). But things are good again and recently I have been playing with the free version and put the gba and gamegear modules on my wish list from my wife this year. The x50v support is still being tweaked with but Aaron is very responsive to the pocket pc community and I have no doubt that the end results will be fantastic.

The Genesis emu isn't much cop though. Even running at full speed(on my X30h), the sound is wonky (crackles and is distorted). Slows
emulation to a crawl as well.

The genesis sound core will be getting an update sooner or later and if it doesn't fare out well, we at Morphgear may just dump the whole Genesis Module for another Genesis Module. When? My lips are closed on that for now because we don't even know if we'll be doing this (Replacing old for new). The new sound core will improve speed. Here's a link of Aaron's ever growing Todo list:

Yes. You need to either build or buy a device called a 'game copier'. They're typically quite expensive to buy, and require a fair bit of electronics knowledge to build though.

Which systems were you thinking of dumping carts for? I should be able to dig up some links. Gameboy cart dumpers aren't hard to find, and not that expensive, but other systems are.

To be honest, almost no one goes this route. Most just go and download roms from the internet for carts they own.

PocketNESter is the best NES emulator available and it's free. I haven't gotten into any other systems yet.

Check around really. I don't think it's fair to pay to play already illegal ROMs....but that's another story....
