Accesing psx roms over the internet via Fpsce or another app...
How can I do this? I really can't store a 1.5 gig file on my SD card. I need to access the ROM on my HD over my network.

Hmmm.....

I dont think this would be possible. The ammount of data the emulator needs to pre-load is quite alot, and you'll need more speed than an 802.11b link can provide.

Ya, it's possible. Many people 'stream' their ISO's from their computers Had on over to the FPSEce forums and ask their. I personally don't know how, but I do know it can be done. I don't think there is any speed decrease whatsoever. The PSX CD Drive was only 4X anyways

Woah, my mistake then. I just thought that trying to cache a file that big over a network would be really slow.

Sorrryyyyy if I confused you in anyway

I think if you're near enough a PC or 802.11 to stream, you should likely be playing the emu on a laptop or PC and not a underpowered handheld with terrible controls and no battery life

Aside from that, you can rip the excess files from the ISO to reduce their size; ie: Toss out movies and background audio which usually cuts way down on the ISO size. You can also compress the ISO..

well, there are certain things that i love about fpsece on my x30h and things that i do not. The first thing i love is having ff7,tomba megaman legends, and medal of honor wherever i go and being able to enjoy them because they run at a playable level and once you get used to them the controls arent that bad at all. However, a lot of games run absolutely horribly and are just frustrating where as others just dont work at all. I have heard that people stream isos from all over their house and dont see a performance hit, just increased load times. Plus, if my bro is on the comp and i want to do some gaming i can just whip out my ppc and play. However, i agree with skeezix in that u should get a 1gb sd card because once u use psxldr, psm play, and pocket iso you will be able to fit several games on your ppc wherever u go. Right now i have megaman legends 2, quake 2, tomba, metal slug x, and medal of honor on my 1gb sd card with 440mb left to spare! Plus it only takes me around five minutes to rip and compress an iso all with free software. Hope that helps!

mines the same size, did u compress them with pocket iso 1.1 or 1.0? There have been problems with 1.1 compression and also with the z compression of 1.0 with fpsece .09.3. Your best bet is to use bz compression in pocket iso 1.0 and free up as much ram on ur x30 as possible
