Whats the story w/Morphgear and the X30?
I currently have a X30 and would like a emulator program. I was looking at Morphgear but notice there seems to be some button lag issue? Is this still a issue for the X30? Also it seems you need a massive amount of memory for this program is this true? Can anyone out there with a X30 give me their opinion on Morphgear? Also where in the he!! do you get the games for morphgear? Thanks for all your help

Hi,

I experienced no problems at all with MorphGear on my X30h - it seemed to run perfectly. If you do find any problems, there are alternative single-system emulators out there. www.pdarcade.com has a great list of what's available.

As for the games themselves - you'll need the original and a set-up that will allow you to transfer the rom image to a PC. http://www.lik-sang.com/ may have something in stock that will do the job.

Mark.

Thanks Mark! Can you tell me of a good Rom the works on the X30, or is Morphgear the way to go?

MorphGear is the way to go - the emulation quality is excellent. Like all emulators, it doesn't come with any games. Those you'll have to sort out yourself - although there are plenty of homebrew titles, etc, that you can google for.

To get rid of the button lag, lower the thread priority in the settings for the module you are in.

You can do this and try overclocking, I recommend Pocket Hack Master 2004. This should fix the button lag , as long as you have the newest Morphgear 2.3.0.2. As for memory...
all the modules except for the GBA emulator should not use a whole lot of memory maybe
5 - 10 mb (probably less than that). The Gba module is a mixed bag for memory sucking.
The new Zelda requires a little over 20 mb to run, a few others are the same. Don't forget to visit the Morphgear forums for anymore questions, suggestion, and problems !

Yeah morphgear is a blast! I had some problem emulating GBA games like GTA and other games, i also experienced the button lag.
That was due to an outdatet version of morphgear, i upgraded to to newest version and set "CPU Throttle" to "high".
At frameskip 3 and auto sync GTA is playable (not perfect), when you set camera-angle to high its even more playabe =).
Other games work superb without any lag. (love advance war)

sorry to steal your thread but does anybody know how to get this game http://donut.parodius.com/?func=tran...es&gamekey=638 to work on the axim? it says that the problem with the game is that there may be an insufficient amount of memory, if thats true then ill do a hard reset and just install it. thanks in advance

Don't do a hard reset... a few games aren't compatible with the current snes9x core (1.43 wip). R4ph43l is currently porting the 1.43 core (non-wip version) which he's already let me test build 1. Alot more games are compatible, like japanese games (ie the one you mentioned above)... I told him not to release the newest core til we figured out the bugs and problems that were showing up with build 1. We will try to release the newest core soon to the public... speed optimizations are also being added possibly by emulamer..
