Hello Everyone
Is there an atari 2600 emulator for the x50v?
There are 100's of free ROMS at atariage.com,
and they are all legal.

Yes and no. The emulators themselves are legal, as they are simply reverse engineered hardware. ROMs are another issue. If you do not own the actual game cartridge itself, you probably are not legally entitled to own the ROM. In the case of Atari games, nobody seems to care because they are so old"

In answer to your ACTUAL question...yes there is an emu for the 2600 and it works.

There is a trick to getting the emu to run correctly.
When you first run the emu and got a rom going, the game will run really fast. You cannot slow down the emu within the emu's options (at least, not the way you want it). You MUST turn off the GAPI tweak...FIRST! Then run the emu. Pitfall and River Raid run great by the way.

What you mean by newer? MAMEce runs quite a few of the old classics. Morphgear runs alot of the consoles. No NEOGEO stuff yet. PocketSNES is best for SNES. FPSEce is for PSone.

I believe it is in default. Anyways, it doesnt matter. You MUST disable the GAPI tweak (if you use it) to run the emu. Otherwise it runs at about 5 times the normal speed. Whew!

Technically, I don't think the ROMs are even legal unless you dump them YOURSELF. Just owning the cart isn't enough.

I wouldn't worry about VGA support since the Atari was 160x192.
