Nintendo DS emulator for PPC?
Hello, this is my fist post on this forum...

Anyway, I am planning to buy myself my first PocketPC (Dell Axim 50v since it is one of currently most powerful PPCs). I'd mainly use it as a multimedia device and a console emulator.

But I also fancy Nintendo DS and buying both of them would be rather senseless (I would pay at least 700 dollars for both of 'em). Axim 50v is way enough powerful to emulate DS, it also has all DS' 'hardware' (resolution is big enough, it has a microphone and naturally, it has a touch-screen)

My search on Google wasn't pretty informational. Can I expect such thing?

P.S.: Sorry for my lousy english, it's just not my native language (although I love english books ...)

I have been looking as well, a few people say they are working on one, others say it is not possible because the ds uses 2 processors! I dont know whether this helps or not.

Techically looking, for a processor emulation, you need maximum 10 times faster CPU to emulate it properly. If one DS' CPU has the speed of 33 Mhz, there should be no problem to emulate both of the processors on an 625 Mhz Axim (33 x 2 x 10 = 660). It's not a big deal to emulate it on a PPC, since it runs fine on single-cpu computer of nearly the same specifications. And 50v even has a 3d graphics chip that could even fasten the speed of emulation.

And once again, sorry for my bad english.

What bad English?
I had to look very hard to find any.

Even if you can get the emulator, where would you get the ROM images for the games??

lol where have you been?
You can already get "blank" cartridges for your nDS and put rom images on there and run them (i think)

so they have them for Illegal download INLESS you own them, but yeah, look in the usual places...

Of course you mean equipment to actually "burn" the cartridges as well. Can you provide a link for all this stuff you are talking about if its in the "usual places"???

The way you make it sound, I can walk into my neighborhood Radio Shack and get all this stuff. Assuming that you've done all this before.

Developement is slow when there is no funding so it could be a long time if its possible.

I'd buy the DS... wait I did

The problem of the DS having a secondary processor is not much of a problem at all.

Commercial developers can only execute a certain precompiled program made by Nintendo on the ARM7, and it just provides easy access to hardware such as the touch screen and WiFi. The emulator can ignore the ARM7 code and have a special Pocket PC version to use.

Is there any way to simply adopt a NDS emu for a PC to a PPC?

Luckily I have a brother who knows japanese (^ ^)!
The author is actually talking about possibly porting his fMxs emulator (A very badly made program where you can play MXS games on the pocket pc... there are better...) on the nintendo DS and... the PSP...
Sorry to burst anyone's bubbles. And also, Marat was making a nintendo DS emu in conjunction with his VGBA update that he was suppose to release in July. Things fell through though... as we can no longer get in touch with Marat to find out if he will make a final update before he chooses to go or not...

Here is a possible link that might interest you for s few minutes...
