I think the best you can find is Morphgear ( http://morphgear.com )
The GBA part of the emu is 20$...
Im can play games like Fire embleem at 30fps without sound...
If you wanna play quick action games then buy a GBA with a flashcard...
So what good puzzle games or turn based games or anything that doesnt require lots of frantic buttons (lets face it the Axims buttons suck) are out for the GBA ?
to answer the question about what is playable or not on the GBA emu:
Im right now playing Fire Embleem (30fps no sound) / playing OK with on screen pad
Final Fantasy Tactics Adv is ok but a little bit slower
Do not play tetris advance...it is pure sh*t....The GameBoy one in B/W is the best
I think you can also try advance war, maybe Pokemon too
You can give a go to Golden sun 1 & 2..a good RPG

It works well/fast on Dell's Axim X50v, though Morphgear has to be *Hacked* right now with Gapi Tweak. I get descent speed with sound on a few games and Morphgear will be updated when Dell decides to release Windows Mobile 5. We plan on implementing the Mobile Direct 3d to it...

i dont like to think the buttons suck cos i paid a lot of money for this thing... it just takes some getting used to
Yeah...but just so everybody knows I wouldn't use an Axim to play rigorous games on it. *100%* of our hands are too big for the system and you're more likely to do more damage to your hands than good with alot of usage.
Keep in mind the Axim's (At least the X30s) are recessed into the machine (most likely to prevent accidental pressing in case). A video game system always has buttons that stick out further.
So da1writer has there been any updates on the GBA plugin for morphgear? I recall that you said he rewrote much of the code and got the sound nice and all that but never released it...

What should the settings be to run as smoothly as possible? I heard someone got golden sun 2 running ok just with some flickering on the character. I could deal with some flickering if I could just get it moving. I have tried all kinds of settings and I can't get it to run at more than half speed. And the sound is broken, too.

Thats teh best it gets unless we can bring that programmer back who wrote the commercial pugins for morphgear.. I think even with overclocks we have hit the limits of his sofware and need the updated optimizations.
