Well I'm not if you count it as a pda - but I had a Franklin Rex, the smallest thing I have seen - the size of a credit card & synch via the card slot in my laptop.

From that (after 3 happy years) I've gone to the Axim - bigger (but not as big as some people would have you believe) and much, much more powerful

This is my first PDA, if you don't count a little Casio organizer that I had for several years. I don't like to carry a laptop, so the Axim is perfect for writing my notes for my trip report while I'm on an airplane. When I get bored from that (which is often), I play games on it.

I'm not surprised there are so many first-timers with the Axim.
Their pricing is what finally got my card out after looking at $500 stickers.

bought first Palm about a year ago and got bored with it. It ended up in my closet back in the box after a few months. When the Axim came out, I hesitated at first not really wanting another closet toy. But, this baby will never see the closet...it's just too cool

can't really say I am a convert from Palm, even though my previous pda was a palm. It did sooo many things quicker and easier than my Axim. It just did not have the gadgetry of the axim.

newb here...
I went from the original Palm Pilot by USRobotics to Axim. Talk about a jump! I finally jumped in because of the cost (got a refurb Advanced for 2 bills) and versatility (I wanted to by an MP3 player and voice recorder separately). Had it for about a month and I'm pretty happy with it. Quickly becoming "Aximilated"

BTW...awesome forum. I can't keep myself away.

This is my first pda. I purchased mine around Christmas along with a SD card, the Dell keyborad, & extra battery. I love it.

I've had a HP 545, 548, 565, and 568

I used to work at office depot and i would just swap them out when a new one came in.

545 for the 548, then 548 for 565, 565 for 568.

I started out with the Compaq Aero back when they weren't even called Pocket PCs. I had that a few years then upgraded to the Casio EM-500. I had that a few years, and couldn't see spending the money to upgrade until the Dell came out. Thank god. I was running out of memory and out of MIPS programs.

I had a Visor Platinum for two years before upgrading to the Axim. I have finally found what I was looking for two years ago! Thank God for Dell!

I started with an HP Jornada 520 and got it all decked out, until I dropped it a few times and it died a horrible broken digitizer death. Later I bought another from Ebay and my wonderful girlfriend dropped that one as well. Then the Axim was to come out and here I am on that boat with the rest of yall.

My first PDA I bought was a Newton Message Pad 110. Before that I had "hand me down" Casio and Sharp "PDA's"...

No palm!
I looked at and considered a palm device, but hated them. I kept holding out for a Pocket PC device for under $200.00 and the Ax fit the bill and then some!!!!

This is the first Pda I have owned. I used Palms before, and did not really like them. The Dell Axim is great especiialy because of the price and the fact that it is a Pocket Pc. The pocket Pc operating system is WAY better. I got my Axim December,12 and have not put it down since.
