finally got it to work on wm5, however, it's not playable at all... it's slower than slide show...
strange thing that i noticed with the pakconvert script... when i just installed the game and patch it to 1.32 but didn't actually play it on my pc, the script will result in a pak file that's 124meg big... this didn't work at all... running pakconvert with this 124meg pak already existing will double its size...
after i played it once on my pc, entered the registration key and all, then the pakconvert will result in a 119meg pak file... this one will load... and also doing subsequent pakconverting with this pak file existing doesn't result in a pak file that's double the size...
not sure why this is... maybe it's just something goofy on my end...
also, didn't play q3a for quite some time... major ownage by the bots on the level before nightmare setting... skillz w34k!!! running custom widescreen res looks pretty sweet though...
again thanks the q3ce author for all the hard work... hopefully something can be done on wm5... since that's gonna be the os going forward... after they fixed all the bugs...

I cannot get this to work. I tried using pakconvert a few times and have hard-resetted 5 times already. I guess I'll have to wait for a later version.

Version 1.1b - Available for download now!
* Numerous bugfixes, including problems with shotgun crashing and sometimes not hitting
* No more hard resets. Memory autotuning has been significantly reworked, and no longer uses temporary files, which was causing storage memory problems, due to issues related to storage compression.
* Q3 zone memory manager completely recoded to use tighter algorithm, resulting in being able to play many levels without running out of memory due to fragmentation.
* Rocket marks cleaned up.
* Mostly works on Windows Mobile 5, but Axim x51v users are still out of luck until Dell fixes their memory issues. Rom update should be out sometime in the next week or two, hopefully. Until then, stick with PPC2003 if you can.
* Fixed memory leak with sound driver, and fixed problem causing sounds to drop out after a while of gameplay.
* Pakconvert script seems to be working better now for more people.

Thanks Crioux, really appreciate all your work and support with this.
1.1b seems to load faster, got 8 kills into a 10 kill deathmatch (2 computer opponents on the 3rd map) and then the screen froze. A soft reset cleared it ok. I'll keep playing and see how it goes. One other thing, any chance of making this landscape instead of portrait, like Pocket Quake. In portrait the buttons are all a bit cramped when having to use the stylus as well.

I'm trying set the thing up so that you don't have to smear your fingers all over the screen to play. As for the bug, i'll check it out.

I tried it on my X50v with MW5. With 1.1 it would load to the map loading screen, now it gives not enough memory when loading the console. I guess it's a good thing, now I know it won't work :). I sent it to get upgraded to 128MB of RAM, Will report when it comes back next week.

ya report how the 128 megs work and how the battery life on wm5 is with that. That upgrade may be a joke to some but i always seam to use up even the 40 megs i have free on my WM2003 lol.

I used to run out of ram all the time using OCN5 in WM2003se. Haven't once with WM5. Navigation seems much snappier in WM5. Battery life will be just the same with 128MB and WM5 since it doesn't rely on RAM anymore (I think). Also, I always had to worry about running programs. Always had to make sure I reset the device before running a memory hungry app. Now I can use my device without those worries (once it gets here :)

Ya 1.1b works great and definiately loads much faster. Only problem is I can no longer change any system graphic settings. It just crashes back to desktop (today) instead of changing the setting and going back to the menu. Its stuck at Medium and I can play with it on high. Other than that I can now play my fave map DM17. Nice work. I shall donate some $ when I get home. This is one programer that needs to put his tallents to a few other games once Q3 is pushed to its limits.

I couldn't live without my 128 mb upgrade. I was the first x50 with it, guine pig. They do excellent work. I have most stuff on the CF except some gps programs, theme king, memory maid. I have, I think, 95-99 mb free still. I cannot slide the memory slider all the way to the left, minimum storage, above about 100mb before it pops back to the middle like all pda's will do without the upgrade. Its a function of the OS. A lot of the memory hungery programs run great, I.e morphgear, GPS, etc. I haven't got time to try the quake 3 yet. I plan on installing what I can into RAM to see if it helps. I haven't got it running on the CF yet though. Ram is sweet though. Benchmarking Betaplayer from ram is much faster than off a CF.
