XWords

http://xwords.sourceforge.net/index.php

It's freeware. A fantastic Scrabble (tm) simulation, which lets you choose from different dictionaries, downloadable from the above website.

Unfortunately, some people had problems running XWords on VGA devices.

I have at least 50 games loaded on my PPC (action, sports, puzzle, casino, cards, etc), and I've been playing XWords almost exclusively for at least the past 6 months. Never get tired of playing.

I can't believe the thread has got this long without anyone mentioning my two favourite games: Age of Empires and Arvale II (well, ok, and Arvale I of course!). I spend many a train journey playing random AoE maps; and Arvale II Ocean of Time is so addictive that I have had to limit myself to a couple of hours per week playing it, otherwise I will a) miss my station; b) get no work done and c) my worst nightmare: finish it before pdamill get round to making a new rpg game!
Ancient Evil is pretty good for rpg fans, too.

Aximsite never ceases to amaze me.

I would never have heard of Xwords if I had not read this thread and it is an excellent game - free too. :approve:

I love chess! However, when I'm tired and in a "no brainer" mood, Backgammon.
