I have reviewed Mastersoft SuDoKu and was impressed by it.
If you get dead silence after breaking the speed of sound, would you be in the darkness after passing the speed of light?

I like Mastersoft and Sudoku Rules! the most, with my overall preference being for Mastersoft. Unfortunately, neither yet has a beautiful VGA display, so I'm really interested in who adds that first.

Resco's version 2.0 does look promising, too, but also, not VGA, yet. Version 1.0 was very ugly IMO, so I'm glad they updated it so fast. I own a bunch of Resco products and find them to be a first rate developer, too. EDIT: Resco IS NOW VGA. Very nice rendering.

I still prefer Mastersoft, but I now prefer the display shown on Resco. I anxiously await the VGA version of Mastersoft Sudoku.

Pocket Sudoku 2.0 by DKM works exactly how I want a Sudoku program to work, in terms of generating puzzles, offering differing levels of checking and help, and most of all in terms of how to enter numbers in the cells.

This may be a little off topic ... but is there any type of strategy to solving Soduku puzzles ?

To me, it seems more like a trial and error type of game.

If someone knows a website that talks about game strategy, please let me know.

Update: Nevermind ... just found info about it here:
http://www.sudoku.com/
Click on the "How to Solve" button, on the left.

More Soduku strategy info can be found in this PDF:
http://www.sudoku.org.uk/PDF/Solving_Sudoku.pdf

And yet ...even more info can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudoku

This is my favorite Sudoku strategy site (from Astraware). It has great explanations of the different strategies.

I like SuDoku PPC: http://www.ztdb.co.uk/sudokuppc/
Its free and it allow you to put little numbers in the squares.
It doesn't provide any help and does not come with SuDokus, but basicaly is the same as resolving them in paper, and that's what I want.

I see that SuDokuPPC can load "SadMan" version 1.6 Sudokus, but "SadMan" is up to version 2.3, so I tried a few current SadMan *.SDK puzzles, and they wouldn't load into the SuDokuPPC game.

There are some sample *.SDK files here, if you want to try it yourself:

According to their web site, it is for Palm OS only. Is there another place on the site to get a version that will work with the Axim?

I wanted to try this one also but when I installed it with WM5.0 (on x51) it's the only Suduko that wouldn't run. When I launched it it would just freeze my unit. Anyone else have this problem with spiralmile's program?

I use this (along with Mastersoft and Resco) on my X50v. The Resco is the only one which has VGA quality images, so far.

Both Mastersoft and Spiralmile (the newest version) have big grids and numbers, however, so they look pretty good (but not great) on my VGA screen. I've never had a problem with Spiralmiles on my X50v, although it's WM2003SE, and now WM5.

Thanks all.
I have tested about 3 different. I think Mobile Sudoko is the best. But my opinion is not very neutral

Not the best, but here is a version I wrote to help me solve puzzles (it does not generate any puzzles, the puzzles must be entered).

Unzip the two files to a directory and start the program using File Explorer. You will need to get the games/board from somewhere else.

Regards,
John Flegert

P.S. I wrote this for my Axim X50V, it is a VGA application.
