Instalation on a CF CARD

When i try to install game on to my 256mb CF Card (games like Everquest or Argentum or Ages of Empire) it installs on the computer and says check device for further installation, and when I do it says whatever.CAB is not a valid install file.

Are you double clicking on your PC to start the installation or are you just dragging the file to the card? You have to open the file on your PC first.

I open it on the PC the Install Wizard comes up and then gpes to the Add/Remove programs screen and asks if i want to install in default directory and i say no and click cf card and then it says check ppc for more install directions and thats where ir un into my problem.

I had that problem, but I was using a SanDisk 256mb SD card. In case you haven't heard, the SanDisk model (the one that Dell sells) likes to screw up and lose your data. I too had similar problems, which I got around by installing to the built-in card, then copying to the SDCard.

It didn't fix the "random formatting" error, and I lost all of my data more than once. Finally, I returned the SanDisk card to Dell for a refund and bought a Memorex 256MB SD card. I have had no problems at all with it.
