PocketNester - What else do you need?

I have come to truly appreciate PocketNester. Who needs the $20-$30 PPC games out there?

Want a puzzle game? What can beat Dr. Mario or Tetris?

Want an action game? What can beat Contra or Mega Man?

Want an RPG? What can beat Final Fantasy or Zelda?

Want sports? What can beat Tecmo Bowl or Double Dribble?

Want a shooter? What can beat Gradius or Life Force?

Want fighting? What can compete with Mike Tyson's Punchout?

Want adventure? Two words -- Mario Brothers

We got it all baby!!

(and in case you are wondering, I DO have all the original game carts.)

I just came upon this and wanted some info...I have some of the old games and am going to install Nester. Where do I put the ROMS (and yes, I do have the carts for the ones I will use) on the Axim?

The ROMS will be in zip format. Do not unzip them! Just copy the zip file to your Axim. I believe you can store them anywhere. Personally I put them in a folder I created on my CF card and they work great.

PocketNester will run the game from the zip file. There is no need to unzip the rom file which means you use less storage space per game.

Gunsmoke, Excitebike, Castlevania, Blades of Steel, Ninja Gaiden, Kung Fu, Bubble Bobble, Super Dodgeball, Lemmings, Dejavu, Bases Loaded, Black Bass, RC Pro Am, Jordan vs. Bird, Smash TV, Rygar, Paperboy, Dragon Spirit, blah, blah, blah.......too many........brain overloading........losing consciousness.......

I've been using Pocket Nester for a couple of days now. I'm quite impressed. There are a couple of games that won't run properly. Some of those games are just due to whoever created the crappy ROM. But its been great. I appreciate the fact that it can play ROMs from the zip file. It's like re-living the 80's all over again.

Hey guys. I have tried to put the files as zip files but they just dont work. I think it may be because i use winrar but there are still zip files arent they? anyone got a suggestion

When you archive with WinRAR, it will have an option for a .RAR archive or a .ZIP archive. Just because you name it .rar, doesn't necessarily mean that's what it will be. I can't remember where the option is, but there is one that kind of "tells" it to archive it as a ZIP file.

In reference to Winrar, right click on a file and select "Add to Archive." This will bring you to the "Archive Name and Parameters" screen. There's a section on the "General" tab that says Archive Format. It will give you the option of making the file a .rar or .zip file. Select .zip and click OK.
