quake 3 on the x50v

although i am usually just a searcher and reader of this forum, I have to post here because i don't see people talking about a very sweet development. Quake three working and very playable on the x50v. about 25 fps. check out the engadet article http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000283067580/

I wonder what hacks are needed to get this to work on x51v, since WM5 chews up all of your memory! I have the best PDA possible (I thought

), but now it is obsoleted by Quake III cuz I don't have the RAM, although 624mhz and 2700G should be nice. I actually started playing Q3 when it came out on a 500mhz P3 with a 16 MB video card and x51v is 624mhz ARM with 16MB video card, so in a way it is about as powerful as my old desktop that ran Q3 well!

I must figure out what is needed to get enough RAM to run it in x51v...

it says you need i think 40 something ram free, it is worth a shot to try for the x51, it might work just fine with nothing running and some ram cleared up.

i am excited about this game, soo many games run on the quake three engine. it won't be long now until some great games will start getting ported over. maybe i am dreaming, but hey, gotta be optimistic.
Pda gaming isn’t exactly a great experience anyway, but it is cool.

I don't think Axim's 624mhz can be compared to P3 500mhz and intel 2700G to a 16MB desktop video card.

The installation is quite troublesome and in the meanwhile i'm still enjoying quake mobile.
