I own Kasparov chess. It worked at the beginning, after a couple of days, it does not load anymore. On top of the screen, the message Kasparov Chess will appear, but the game will not be loaded. The Axim will always be blocked and has to be soft-resetted.

What could I do? The Hotline was not of great help to me.

does it work after you do a soft reset? sounds like you may be running out of memory

Erwin, Kasparov Chess works fine on my X50 High, on my X50v I experience the same problem(s) that you have.
I removed the program, re-installed, several times. Tried BIS, CF & SD locations. Nada, zip, nothing.

In addition, I have lots of free memory. All I get, like you, is
Kasparov Chess in the upper tool bar.

I'm disgusted and inclined to get a different chess program.

Does anyone know of a chess game, played vs handheld, or played against another handheld via bluetooth? Across the bar?

Tankman. So it may have to do something with the processor used by the x50v as the screen resolution should be the same unter WM2003.

I was thinking the same thing. Screen resolution.
I also use SE_VGA and sometimes "True VGA." The chess game
works perfectly with the X50's QVGA.

Well anyhow, downloaded Chess Genius. Perhaps not as fancy a
board, plays well. :approve:

I don't know if this program will do what you want. I've played it over the web (using the pc application) using MSN and as a standalone ppc program it certainly meets my standard of play. :exc:

The graphics are not great, but they are functional and, best of all, the program is free, so it's worth trying. I've run the program on the X50 but I don't know if it'll work on the X50V. Perhaps someone can try and let us know.

How long do you wait before resetting? If I wait long enough, it will usually start after awhile (a minute or two).

I found that Microsoft Voice Command prevents Kasparov chess from running. A quick fix is to uncheck the enable box in the voice command settings.
