I installed Pulse Interactive Quake Mobile.
Installation was a breeze. However when starting up the game it changes to Landscape mode (Normal) Shows the Quake White Screen (Normal). Then it quits (Not Normal).

I then googled and searched and installed
"X50v Enhanced GAPI v 1.11"

In Settings Enhanced Driver Selected. XScale LCD Controller Selected. Then applied and then I did a soft reset.

since I am new to this. A soft reset to me is using the stylus to push down that little button on the back which restarted my dell axim x50v.

I read on some forums it might help going into the power settings for the CPU and set it to maximize. I did this restarted and tried Quake and same thing.

I checked the CF card where I installed it to make sure the files are actually there and they are 59 megs are in use. and the pak files are there and the .exe

Anything else I could be doing wrong?

You did the soft reset right and assuming you're still using WM2003SE then the GAPI tweak should work. Have you tried both the "original" GAPI tweak and the newer alpha version that was also posted on this forum? Have you tried both the XScale and 2700G modes?
Setting the CPU to high may improve performance but the game should still run when set to auto or a lower setting.

I think I read somewhere though that Quake Mobile was meant to use the 3D accelerator, in which case the GAPI stuff shouldn't really be used.

Personally I had trouble getting the free PocketQuake to run properly (it ran but had loads of graphics issues) and I wanted to try Quake Mobile but couldn't find a demo/free download version.

I am still using WM2003SE
I am using the x50v Enhanced GAPI v 1.11

Yes I have tried both modes XScale & 2700G modes.

AUTO and Max Performance CPU settings both. Nothing so far.

I appreciate any further help you can give me.

This game doesnt use GAPI tweak. It uses the OpenGL ES libraries... something completely seperate from the aging GAPI.

ok I figured out the problem as biohzrd stated it does not use GAPI tweak. Although I did try without it and got the same results.

The problem was with my CF card. LEXAR Media 1GB 80x Professional Compact Flash with Write Accleration Technology. I use this for my Nikon D70 camera and thought it would work for my DELL AXIM x50v. However when I installed Quake on it never worked, then I installed Quake on a 64 MB Compact Flash SanDisk which VOILA it worked. I tried Quake again on the Lexar 1GB and failed back to the 64 SanDisk and Voila Worked. So it must be my 1GB Lexar CF that is causing me the problems.

Anyone know a good Compact Flash 1 GB or higher that I can use with the dell axim and also a card for the smaller slot ??? That I can use for anythign from games, mp3z, and divx movies??

The smaller size card is called "SD." Just for the record, I have a Lexar SD card, 1 GB, that works like a charm. I'd say that it's the Write Acceleration Technology that's confusing something. Unfortunately the Axim can't really take advantage of the higher speed of faster cards, they just run like a standard card regardless. It's unfortunate that yours is having such troubles. Glad to hear you got the game working, though.

New to report the Quake by pulsar only works if I install level 1 only which is 32 megs and when i try to install the full package 64 megs it hangs at loading.

It does - on the x51v.
