a super star game where you create a character that gains more poweres as they fight, would
be great if you can base it off capcoms Veiwtiful Joe

Or you could do a game where we are paired off with teams then we can spy on other teams plans complete missions while we fight to gain control over the world,

These ideas along with the matrix one is what i call great games in the making

If you make them and if you make them right i will personally donate largely to ensure expansion of it.And I mean Large

Well I'm definately going for something where you progress your skills, level up and get more powerful as you go... and there will be teaming up too. I'm not sure if you'll fight for land or just power yet, but there will be gang fights and owning of your own little parts of the world definately.

Well the biggest thing holding me back from doing this is it would need LOTS of high-quality characters and enemies drawn and animated which is not something I'm great at or will have time to do.

I like RPGs... an online one that could be played on our PPCs sounds fantastic! It also sounds like a lot of work.

I think the actual programming stuff should be reasonably straight forward because I've done similar things before - but I'm not going to waste my time on it unless there's enough interest in it and I still need to find someone to do the core artwork.

I'd be interested in any somewhat decent rpg for a pocket pc. I'm a fan of the genre. I would be willing to help but this sort of thing isn't really my area of expertise i'm more of a mapping type.

I think it would probably do well though since there is really nothing of the sort as of now for pocket pc's

I would love it;Sphere was not very fun in the demo...I would pay for the game if it had enough players on it. I also have a friend who can make pretty good music, if you're interested. :D

Thanks for all your feedback. I've just found a few friends that may help me and a possible way we can make a 3D client for the pocket PC that won't need 3D hardware and will also compile for the PC as well - it might work.
The biggest hurdle right now is that they don't have PDAs so getting them to write stuff that compiles and runs well on the pocket PC might be tricky. We'll see though.

I'm always interested in another PPC RPG, and making it an MMORPG would probably be the best thing I have seen since I started playing RPGs. What kind of MMORPG would this be? Is it going to be fantasy based? how about futuristic? side-scrolling?

Knowing that would make the determination on 2D or 3D easier. Look at something like Maple Story (http://www.mapleglobal.com/). It's a pretty fun MMORPG that's also a 2D sidescroller.

Well in general (with a few exceptions) I find I don't personally like RPGS when they're too futuristic because everything ends up getting textured in metal and looks ugly. Plus you start having to introduce guns, which means you have to calculate where all the bullets end up and stuff.

MapleStory is a great game but the main problem with that kind of game is you have to have a heck of a lot of stuff client-side (all the jumping around and that) which then means you get cheaters and hackers. It also quickly gets boring and uses more bandwidth.

I've done some research on this in the past, and games like MapleStory and Gunz Online where they tried to put too much of it in the client you can easily cheat and get god mode or fly around or avoid 80% of damage etc.

I would LOVE a good RPG for my PDA. In fact, I demand it! I demand it!
