Button problems after using emulators?

Just a question,
My parents dont want me to use the nester emulators alot because they think the buttons will eventully wear down after long periods of use.
Is this true? Any of yall's axims have worn out buttons or hard to push buttons becuase of the use of emulators?

I just dont want to use the emulators alot and then find out later that the last home button is about 5mm deeper then any other buttons.

Thanks

I used my casio em500 for gaming over about a year and a half and never had a problem with buttons , and I wouldnt dream of using onscreen buttons instead (although thats an option I guess).
when I switched to the ax in feb I loaded up cegg and p.nester , and no problems so far....although its possible I could be lucky so dont hold me to it...anyway hopefully there'll be a plug in joypad for the ax released soon (theres ipaq/palm ones available so far)
