Creating ROMS for use on emulators?

So I have a lot of GBA and SNES games, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to create ROMS from them? I know its only legal to posses ROMS that you currently own the cartridge for, Im just unsure as to how to convert a cartridge into a computer file. Thanks!

Well, the best way is to google for roms, and download only the ones that you have the cart of the game.

If I remember corretly you need to get a "converter", basically a pass-through connector... they have a plug where you put the cart, and then attach the cable to the PC. Run a program and it rips it to a file. I am sure that you can google that as well.

Technicly, thats still ILLEGAL, and shouldnt have been posted. There is a special cable that allows you to rip a rom from the diskette onto your computer, which is exercising your right to backup your media. However, according to this law, you can only use one copy as the main, and the other has to be the backup. In this case it means that you can only be playing it on one screen at a time.

You would probably need this cable:

or this one:

1. Buy the game you want on an old platform.
2. Download the ROM of it.
3. Play as much of it as you want.
4. If anybody bothers you, whip out that ol' cartridge.
