Monopoly freeware?

Does such a thing exist? Is there a freeware version of the popular monopoly game? Thanks!

No, sorry. I would love to see it though. Handmark's Monopoly is the only one I know of.

I did some research into it, and it looks like your best bet (for spending the least amount of $$$) is to go to your local gamestop (ebay, etc) and pick up a used copy of the NES or SNES version of the this classic game. Then you can legally download an emulator/rom combo, put away the cartridge, and start playing the game!

Above suggestion is fine, but I'd say it's worth the cost to buy the prettier, touch-screen enabled version. The handmark version is really good

I'd also like to register my interest in a UK version, if perchance anyone is listening.

Nevermind. It was pretty effortless to write a quick patch for this. Just replace the Handmark Monopoly file 'monopoly.rb' with the version in the zip file (link below) to get the British property names and currency. Remember to backup your old one if you want to go back.

It's not 100% perfect. Some names have been padded out with spaces and others have been abbreviated. Also the 'pay $50' button on the 'get out of jail' box still reads '$' and not '£'.

There's probably a couple of other minor things but overall it seems fine.
