Converting EQ1 Characters to EQ2

Forgive me if this is already posted, I couldn't find it.

How do you convert Everquest Episode 1 characters to Episode 2? Is it just a matter of copying the .nam and .sav files to the Episode 2 directory and renaming them to the E2 format?

Thanks.

No... copy the files (both the NAM and the SAV file) to a new folder called "\My Device\My Documents\PocketEQ".

They are in your Everquest 1 folder, but the file explorer doesn't show you extensions. The filenames are:

PocketEQDarkHeart0.nam
PocketEQDarkHeart0.sav
PocketEQDarkHeart1.nam
PocketEQDarkHeart1.sav
PocketEQDarkHeart2.nam
PocketEQDarkHeart2.sav
PocketEQDarkHeart3.nam
PocketEQDarkHeart3.sav

I didn't have to copy anything. My character was imported when I started EQ2.

Well, you are one of the lucky ones. These people posted here because all too often software doesn't work as planned. :P

Why I can not use this way to convert the character from EQ, EQ II to EQ III?

Anyone has the idea about it?

Thanx.

Under My Documents create a file called PocketEQ. Then transfer your .nam and .sav files (one of each) from the PocketEQ2 file into this file. When you start PEQ3, they should be recognized.
