Hello all,

a lot of people here like Sudoku as their number 1 game.
so today i downloaded mastersoft sudoku and try playing it
is it just me or i am starting to think those who like
Sudoku must be like mathmatician or something...
this is not that easy.. and this thing gives me a headache !
does it get better if you play a lot ??

You have to find tricks to solve it. First look at one set of three horizontal boxed and check if some number are repetitive. Fill what you know for sure goes. I will print and easy one on the next post to show you. Give me time to put this together.

Look at the 7 added it could go only there because you have 7s in all other available spots. It is the same for the 8, 1 and 9. It get easier and easier as you do them and as you learn to see the number placement. Any questions?

Eh... It's not that hard to me. I just don't have the time to devote to it.

Playing Sudoku while driving could be dangerous but you can eat cereal or put some makeup on or shave or even read the newspaper. I swear I saw people doing this while driving. :bang:

I've got the eval version of "Sudoku Rules" on my Ax right now. I've played it a couple of time and it is kind of fun. I'll probably pay for it one of these days but I haven't quite caught the "fever" just yet. Hard? Not particularly. Takes a little thinking but it's not a killer.

Stick with it, after a little while you start to almost see where a number will go without having to calculate it! After you have identified where the obvious "singles" are, start looking for "pairs" especially when they sit in a horizontal or vertical line within the same 9x9 grid - you might not know which ones which but if it has to be either x or y then you know that both x and y can't exist exlsewhere along that line. (I hope this makes sense)


According to MasterSoft Suddoko v1.12 I'm still a Novice, though I've completed 3 simple, 3 easy, 7 medium, 7 hard, 21 vhard and 3 master levels.... think there might be a bug in their level advancement!

Ok.. so i got the easy Sudoku level down..
but when i go to medium level.. eventhough i put value that
within X, Y and square does not have.. it still says that
its a wrong value sometimes..

so.. i am thinking how can there be a hard level vs easy level?
the rules are same right?

The rules are the same but there are fewer 'clues' on the harder levels. For example, Frenchy's example had a lot of 1's, 7's, and 9's. On a harder level, you'll have fewer of each number in the sets of 9 but there is still only one correct solution for each puzzle so you need to fill in the correct number in each square.

I just started playing it and although it took me a little while to figure out the "tricks" it is easily the most addictive game I've ever played! I can't stop playing it! Even during meetings at work....I try to fake it and make it look like I'm really doing something important like taking notes but I'm actually playing Sudoku!
