Resco Sudoku Easy Skin "Changing" Tip

Here's a simple tip to change the look of some Resco Sudoku skins if you are interested.

First of all, I'm not a skinner, and the "parts" I'm using are made by others, so I hope they don't mind this tinkering.

Each skin file comes with three parts: the "skin" file, the "numbers" file, and the "board" file. If you download and install the skin files from the Resco site, you can find the appropriate file on your PPC and copy it to your PC. From there, you can simply mix-and-match components.

I prefer a simple and readable board with sharp numbers. The Resco skin "Sharp" which is included with the game has numbers that fit the bill.

What I've done is take out that "numbers" file and put trade it for the included "numbers" file in the skin file with the "board" I like. In the attached screeshot, I've swapped out "Leaf" by Aja, as it's a picture Sudoku which I don't like as much as numbers.

The result is the "Leaf" color scheme and theme, but with the clear sharp numbers.

I like this simple trick to give a non-artist like myself a little more variety in my gameboard.

:)
