Hey, so I tried pdosbox for a while, and it worked, but it was pretty slow. I was initially under the impression that n0p's dosbox wouldn't work on an x50v at all, because it doesn't have VGA support, but I've seen that some users have gotten it to work, albeit in 320x240 mode.
But I can't even figure out how to make that work. Every time I click on the .exe file, my PDA freezes up and I have to do a soft reset. Is is possible I'm not configuring the dosbox.conf file correctly?
Does anyone have a working .conf file for n0p's dosbox and the x50v that they could post?
That's strange, mine works very good. I'm posting you my config file both in .conf and .txt, I hope it helps you. Feel free to ask me any questions. Are you using DOSBox 0.63 CVS?

I couldn't even get dosbox or pdos to run on my x50v no matter how many configurations I tryed so I finally pony-ed up the cash and bought Pocket DOS with the datalite ROM, works excellent!!
I would like to know does Dosbox perform at real speed or emulation ?
You download it from n0p's page. Most games that came up before 1992 should work very good. I got it to play Supaplex and it works perfect at the right framerate. I also made a very lame-yet-ussable toolbar that improves a bot the gaming experience. I would advise you to create your own, it's quite fun...

Wow, I forgot about this thread ages ago. Thanks for the response!
I tried it using your conf file and it doesn't seem to help. I wonder if it has something to do with any registry tweaks or having ozvga installed (even though I usually use SE VGA). Maybe I'll try a hard reset and see if I can get it to run. In the meantime, pocketSCUMM and pocketGBA've been keeping me plenty busy.

my cousin gave me a copy of mechwarrior2...I could try it
Wasn't that game for Windows 95? Was there a DOS version? You better start off with the games that came before 1992, those should run fine in most cases...

Hmm...
Wasn't Windows 1.0-Millenium Edition DOS-based?Perhaps you could run Windows 3.1 as a second OS on an Axim with dosbox.(Windows 3.1 had very low system requirements, particularly in comparison with Windows Vista)
