Well after getting a BT gamepad a few weeks ago and wishing I could actually use it...I finally decided to do something about.
Unfortunatly, since i'm away at school, there are only so many tools at my disposal. This led to a fairly crude design that is much more functional then aesthetically pleasing. This is how I went about it.
Bascially, I made use of what I had. When you open the BT gamepad, there is a big metal plate that form fits to the shape of the body. I used Gorilla Glue to glue this piece to the edge of one side of the controller. Fortunatly this metal piece fits very snugly in the body when the little pegs are filed away and works perfect as bracket that can slide in and out. Seeing how I definetely wanted to have landscape support, this worked out great. I glued a piece of lexan to the back of the controller to keep the metal bracket from popping out, so the way this whole thing works is a very nice friction fit that allows me to expand the controller for portriat or landscape mode, whichever I see fit.
I extended the wires on the back and as of right now they just kinda sit there but theyre at least out of the way of my hands so when I get more time i'll fix that. You may be thinking glue eh? You'd be surprised how incredibly strong Gorilla Glue is. It is just as strong as it was before I started cutting pieces away as it is now. A piece of duct tape was put on there to smooth out some edges I left rough because my dremel was buggin out.
It may not look great, but there's only so much I can do with what I have here. It sure is great to be able to play PSX and SNES in landscape mode with a BT controller.
Even better is using these all together with BT headphones! What a pair. Well enough talking, here's some pics...
