The new beta for Mod 2 has been released. I've checked it out, and it's not as buggy as the first build was (so they're making progress.) I'm stuck in part of the game because I don't know what to do next (not because of a bug), so I'm getting some help from the TTI staff.
Once I get past this certain part, Mod2 has the potential to be very cool (think different weapons and armor!)
They're currently working on the bug that kept me from getting into the dungeon. They fixed part of it making a trap easier to get past (ie now you don't have to roll a 20), so I got into the labyrinth. I fully mapped it out (which I can't release until the mod has been released to the public for one week.) I even got to a place that told me to install mods 3 and 4! I still feel like there were some things that went unfinished in this mod, as there just isn't as much to do as in the previous ones (and there is still a door that I can't get into.)
I submitted my report to TTI Staff, so time will tell... I also suggested an easy way to create savestates (like most of us have already done...) Just copy the BINDIR folder, paste in the same folder, then rename "Copy of BINDIR" to "Savegame" (or whatever you want to name your game.) If the SorceryPDA Staff doesn't add this feature, maybe some nice developer out there could make us a savegame manager. ;)
That is one of the main thing that irritates me about this game. I hate getting really far and accomplishing alot, only to die and lose everything. I suppose maybe they thought this would add playing time to the game.

I got Mod2 last week from the server... I am now in the labyrinth, and I tought that I had mapped it also, but I only found the back entrance to the inn and another room with a body, a box and a closed door that I din't manage do do anything..... any suggestions
The back door to the inn is only in Mod2, which hasn't been released to the public and is still in Beta. Are you a beta tester? If so, you need to get the latest version of the beta which came out Friday.
Well, the filename should be your big clue... If it says BETA, then it's the beta. If not, then somehow you have figured out a way to travel in time and download the final version of an incomplete product. :P
Well, you might want to e-mail support@sorcerypda.com just to find out. The beta testers log into the same server as everyone else... it is our account that gives us access to the betas. If you are a beta tester, then there are some rules concerning what you can talk about. (Like no spoilers until a week after the final mod has been released.) I know how to get past where you are, but I can't tell you. :P
They asked me to become one. I have been active on their wwwboard, and I was having problems with SorceryPDA on my Axim. They got me and PhantomJM to be beta testers to represent Axim owners.
To my knowledge, aardwolf and myself are the only active beta testers here so far. To become one, you must be asked to be one (sorry). As for the beta file, I doubt that it's a beta tester's copy. All unreleased beta files are downloaded from a separate secure FTP site. BTW aardwolf, if you have any tips or questions, feel free to PM me. As for the next module, I can't say too much but it's shaping up.
Actually, it was a beta testers file. I e-mailed the staff, and they said they were looking into how it got out. It seems several people who were not beta testers got the download straight from the website. :P
