pocketgba wont hold my settings( button config. , sound on etc. ), whenever i exit and enter pcktgba again everything is set back to the default state, why? the last version before this held my settings so is it just this version or what?thanx in advance.( i have the 2700g accl'ed ver. if that makes a difference)
How are you exiting? You have to tap the screen to bring up the menu and then click the EXIT button. If I just click the X in the corner (and have magic button kill the current app), my setting changes don't get saved.
Forgive me for being an idiot, but which version do I download?
* PocketGBA (use gsGetFile.dll) : DOWN
* PocketGBA (doesn't use gsGetFile.dll) : DOWN
And theres also something called PocketGBA converter? What is that?
And it also says this:

Probably, you need FMOD for WindowsCE. If you want to get more information about FMOD, visit the FMOD official site, http://www.fmod.org. Also you can take a quick guide to FMOD from here.
I use an x51v, do I need this?

No, because the server was down or something for me, and none of your links worked.
Thanks! I overclocked to 1 GHZ, but the memory is sooo slow, so ill stick with 768. I'm playing Warfare Incorporated, and well...... lets say I have play on top of a ice pack.

Hmm..... Speed is decent, even with my processor underclocked and sound on.
Now, only problem. When I try and play Pokemon: Fire Red, it goes through the opening screens, then says: L1 Circuit Board not detected or something like that...
Edit>
LOL, in Pokemon Ruby, which doesn't give me the error, I GET 50 FPS WITH THE SOUND ON!!!
Oh, and I think I underclocked to about 550 MHZ. ITS 1 GHZ TIME!!..... P.S. I have to keep an ice pack on it.
P.S.S. How can I be getting 110% speed?

Can anyone save in pocketGBA? I can't save for some reason! It says "load and than resume game" but than when i try to click on one of the loads, it doesn't do nething! Any ideas?
I'm new to the whole ROM game stuff. I was able to get it working after awhile of playing. Is there a way to rotate the screen to landscape? When I do it just shifts back to the other way....

Is there a folder called "SaveData" in you PocketGBA main Folder? If not, create one. This helps me a lot :)

Well, 1GHZ won't help you since it's being reached by underclocking your memory and FSB so the speed is way slower than 416MHz! I have two suggestions for you. Firstly, if you have Axim x50v or x51v, there's no need to overclock since you have 2700g chip that does the trick. And if not, then I've found the BEST overclocking settings - fastest that could be reached without burning or hurting your precious axim. It's even faster than 728MHz! (using Pocket Hack Master):
CPU: 702MHz,
Bus: 234MHz
Mem: 117MHz
LCD: 59MHz
Here are the SI and MIPS indexes:
____624MHz_____702MHz
SI:__ 373 ________ 405
MIPS: 229 ________ 258
Mem: 516 ________ 552
So that's one thing.

Go to Video and set AutoFrameSkip to OFF and then set your frameskip value to value you like. I think that with 2700g, 2-3 frameskipping should give you the speed around 110% but seriously, I think that it's best to leave AutoFrameSkipping set to ON. It maintains 100% speed which is best.
That's second thing.

PocketGBA with Intel's 2700G acceleration:
In video setup, you can find 'Use 2700g accel' option, and only 'horizontal drawing mode' can be selected with 2700g option.
Background will be destructed, but don't mind.
That's the third thing.

I think you are not saving the game right. When you want to save the game, tap game screen, then tap save and then tap number of the saveslot you want. And then when you want to load the game, you must LOAD THE CARTRIDGE (ROM) FIRST! and then tap load save state and load your saved state.
It solves most problems with pocketGBA and it even explains the mystery of gsGetFile and fmodce :)
P.S. If anyone of you guys happen to have troubles after doing exactly what's in my tutorial, don't be shy and contact me. ICQ 240619581 or e-mail vulpix_the_mighty@yahoo.com I'll be glad to answer all your questions.
What I meant is that how can it be 110%? Its like a coach saying "Give it 110% effort!" How is that possible?
Second of all, I find that 1 GHZ does work, because its not using the FSB and memory that much (I use a card), whatever the case, its defately faster.
Third of all, I DO NOT use the 2700g acceleratrion BECAUSE, theres a bug :). The blue bar at the top is fuzzy, and takes up about half of the screen. Without acceleration, theres the on screen save/load/A/B buttons, I like that.
P.S. I have no frameskipping, processor underclocked to 550 mhz, or whatever it is, sound on, and still get 99%-110% speed.
P.S.S. Care posting your settings?

It's possible because PDA is really fast compared to GBA. And as the emulation code gets better and better, it allows to emulate GBA faster and faster. And if you skip frames - that means you make it easier for emulator by bypassing every xth frame then it's possible to have speed around 110 and such. It's like you had a book and you read every second word in that book. Yeah, you'd miss some things, but not that much to bother you. And the reading would be faster :) The maximal speed is around 180% with 2700G.

Heh-heh, maybe you didn't think of it, but your memory and FSB _IS_ used. You probably didn't realitze it, but it really doesn't matter if you use SD card or built in storage or whatever, because the rom is loaded into your RAM memory - well that's why x51v users cannot load 32MB cartridges - they do not have enough ram for the cartridge to load. And if there's something in the memory and you want to read it as fast as possible, you'll have to overclock your RAM and FSB as much as possible. So I really recommend you to try my speed setting as I described above, because I tested it, and it's really faster that 1GHz

Well, it might seem crazy, but although the screen is fuzzy, on screen buttons STILL WORK! They are not wisible, but they are there, fully working :) Give it a try, it's worth it since 2700g adds 50% speed boost, sometimes more. And more speed = more fluid emulation (less frameskip), and less frameskip = you can enjoy the game much more. And that's what matters, right? :)

Well, why not?
Here are my settings:
I) PocketGBA:
a) Video setup
Auto Frame Skip : ON
Display Mode : Horizontal
Use 2700G acceleration: ON
Display information: ON
b) Sound setup
Sound ON
Mixer Rate = 11025Hz
Mixer Buffer = 200Byte
High quality mixer
Wave buffer = 1024Byte
Loop Normal
Cartridge patching/masking depending on the cartridge
II)PDA
a) Speed settings
CPU: 624MHz
Bus: 208MHz
Mem: 104MHz
LCD: 104MHz
b) Other settings
PocketGBA located on 2GB sd card along with roms(cartridges).
Free ram when turning on PocketGBA: 35,92MBytes
Sometimes, when I'm bored of ROM's music, I turn the sound off and then I start TCPMP and play some mp3s for me :) I've found out how to do it to prevent PocketGBA from shutting down TCPMP while playing GBA games. :) The speed remains still really good because disabling PocketGBA's sound increases performance up to 40%.
